Playtest In Class 10/21/19


In this beta version, the Saeus now have its ability to hide. Fog and colliders for the environment were also added. In addition, the characters now have models with textures on them, but no effects or animation.


Observations:

  • The player can go through the collider of the mountain into the outside of the world.
  • The players cannot place traps/live cameras when the ground isn't flat.
  • The creature should have a separate screen & controller, since the keyboard can be hard to use and the other players can look at each others' screen.
  • The traps should be bigger with a longer cooldown since the player would keep placing them everywhere.
  • The tree colliders are too big that the player kept getting stuck in-between trees.
  • Since the creature cannot attack, there wasn't really offense it could do when a human playe caught up to it.
  • The halo effect on the creature is too bright.

Feedbacks:

  • Add lots of audio & visual feedback. Be redundant.
  • Improve the mobility & playability or each characters.
  • Add an objective explanation before the game starts so that the players know what their goals are.
  • Creature's rotate speed is fine.
  • Creature can go underwater as a hiding mechanic.
  • Invisible makes creature completely invisible on the screen of the other two players.
  • Youtuber can run faster.
  • The enviroment have to be more navigable.
  • Put a collider around the thick groups of tree so that the players would get stuck when they go inside.
  • Too easy to get stuck in trees.
  • The creature should be able to stay invisible for longer so that it can be more powerful.
  • Creature can rush and attack with visual feedback ( have them fly away etc.)
  • Have creatures be able to blind the other players for a while (screen turns white etc.)
  • Humans can have less visibility than creature.
  • The players being antagonistic to each other is good.
  • Create a range for the stealing photo ability of the youtuber.
  • Can pick live cameras or traps back up.
  • Deer gets feedback when picture is taken.
  • Darker at night & Lighter in the morning and add audio cues for the time change.
  • Starts with sunset - middle is night - ends with sunrise
  • Deer can mimic itself by creating fake models to distract the human characters.
