Targeted Ads

Targeted Ads is a game designed for you and your friends to enjoy together via Zoom under this social-distancing times! Become the advertisers and come up with the perfect product for your consumers' needs. Or become the consumers and pick the ads you like or would block!

Platform: Zoom (Video, chat, and Whiteboard)

Number of Players: 5 or more

Goal: Become the advertiser to win the most points

 

How to Play:

1. Players choose an order to go in by sending the number 1 in the chat,  so all players can be determined in the order of the messages sent.
   1. Also, decide one player to share their screen and use the whiteboard feature.
   2. Also, decide on a player to keep track of the scores via the chat.
2. The first player in the order becomes the consumer. The rest of the players are advertisers for the round.
3. The consumer player describes something that they want without naming specific products and types it into the chat. They can describe conditions (3~4 short sentences)
   1. Example: I’m thinking of a product that [kids would enjoy]. It would be made of [something soft & safe for kids]. The function of this product would be to [for kids to exercise].
4. Using the whiteboard, the advertisers draw out their ideas onto the board.
   1. The time limit is 2 minutes
   2. Products’ names are allowed to be written next to the drawings. However, the advertisers should not write explanations next to the product that they’ve drawn.
5. Once the time is up, the consumer player can pick the products that they are interested in and the advertisers can give a short pitch about the products.
6. The consumer player will decide on one product and advertisement that they like and one that they would click through.
   1. +1 point to the advertiser player that the consumer liked
   2. -1 point to the advertiser player that the consumer would click through
   3. The player in charge of keeping track of the scores then note that down
7. The next player on the initial order then takes turn becoming the consumer and the next round begins
8. The player with the most points wins.
