Throughout the process of making this game, there are several things we changed due to observations and comments from playtesting.

  • The player's movement controls were changed from a 4-directional movement to a joystick movement because we wanted the character's weapon to be aimed according to the directions the player is facing. The joystick movement allows the player to aim at more direction than the limited 4-directional movement with arrows.
  • After receiving a comment that the player should be able to move faster with some kind of powerups, we decided to add a dash button in which allows for the player to move faster for a certain amount of time.
  • Some or the rooms were either expanded or shrinked according how the player character felt when moving within the play area.
  • The enemies were added a path-finding script so that they don't get stuck in walls when walking and chasing the player.
